Illustrations of fairy tales by Božena Němcová in reprints in the years 1913-1988

The bachelor thesis focuses on illustrations of Božena Němcová's fairy tales by selected illustrators in reprints and compares different illustrative approaches. The first, theoretical, part of the thesis covers the fairy tale as a genre, its history, characteristics and discusses the fairy tale books of Božena Němcová. It then provides an overview of the changes in children's book illustration, with an emphasis on fairy tales, from the time of the first illustrated books to the end of the 20th century. The second part of the thesis focuses on comparison and interpretation of illustrations by selected artists (Artuš Scheiner, Josef Lada, František Doubrava and Milada Marešová), used for republished versions of Božena Němcová's fairy tale books. In particular, it focuses on the authors' individual approaches to illustration and the similarities or differences in their work. This thesis further includes an inventory of all illustrated editions of Božena Němcová's fairy tales from the first illustrated edition until 1989 and an appendix with pictures.
Czech Illustrated Book for Children

The bachelor thesis deals with current approaches to the book as such and gradually focouses mainly on making books for children and youth. It presents Czech illustrators and creators of artist's books. The key element of the work is the interconnection of content through illustration and photography. The content of the book is intended primarily for children and it is demonstrated by a selection of Czech authors and their work, in which they connect text, ilustration and photography. Theoretical knowledge of this work is based on the practical part with the aim to create an artist's book for children using photography. Through an illustrated story, it introduces the principle of camera obscura and presents instructions for assembling a pinhole camera. The didactic method then presents and implements ideas for the application of photography in art education through two art tasks. Forms of contemporary czech illustration for the youngest readers

Kočová, K.: Forms of contemporary czech illustration for the youngest readers. /Thesis/ Prague 2011 - Charles University, Faculty of education, department of art education, 86 pages. The thesis deals with contemporary tendencies in illustrations for the youngest readers. It compare the work of contemporary Czech artists, who do illustrations for young children as a 'kitsch'. The thesis analyzes the phenomenon of 'kitsch' and utilizes concrete examples from books or magazines for children. The didactic section focuses on work with illustrations in the first grade of primary school. It explores children's reactions to the artwork of contemporary artists as well as the attitude of teachers to this art. Selection of several authors I am try to explain past and present trends in the children and children's authors book. Didactic part is mainly focuse on the status of the book in the context with art lessons and not only in the motivation part of the lesson, but also in topic of lesson. Both principles are use in the didactic project, which was built on the theoretical content of the work. Relationship between the parents of pre-scholars to the children book

This thesis deals with pre-reading literacy and focuses on the factors and actors that it develops. The first chapter deals with the theoretical definition and importance of education to the reading. The second chapter outlines the literary form of preschool education and how the literary education is included in the general educational program for preschool education. The third chapter is devoted to the primary and most important factor that the development of a child's reading act, and that is the family. It shows the possibilities of how children can relate to the books in the family to support the role of the relationship of their parents to read and stresses the importance of reading and storytelling in the family circle. The following chapter deals with the cooperation of nursery school and family in the development of a child's reading, closer is about the influence of teacher's personality and it offers opportunities to work with the book in full day kindergarten regime. The last two chapters of the theoretical part characterizes the specifics of children's literature and provide an overview of the typology of literature for preschool children. The research part describes the process of investigation, which is aimed at determining the important criteria in the selection of children's books....
Children's Books and Media Convergence

This thesis focuses on the children's literature and the cross-medial approach to storytelling for children. The topic is seen in the context of the Czech Republic and the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The aim of this thesis is to understand the relation between the children's literature and the cross-platform approach to the children's story from the point of view and an experience of book publishers, professionals on the children's media and the media in the life of children and children themselves. Within the frame of the cross-national social research was used the method of in-depth interviews with the adult participants and the method of focus groups with the children. According to the results of the research is neither the market environment nor the attitude of the society in the Czech Republic or Switzerland ideal for creating the children's cross-media contents, but the situation is slowly changing and it is possible that the share of the cross-platform contents created for children by the local authors will increase in the future.
Albatros publishing as part of the modern media corporation and reading support for childern

In this thesis I try to outline running and production of the publishing house Albatros from 2002 on, after 2009 as a part of modern media company Albatros Media a. s. Within the framework of company presentation I also focus on its other member companies. The formation of edition profile is necessery to connect with describtion of present state of the book market and conditions for book publishing, in this case book publishing for children. Part of my thesis is also a presentation of competitors on the market with literature for children, outline of methods for reading support and consideration about how books published by Albatros after 2002 are succesfull. The aim of my thesis is primarily the describtion of the evolution of the publishing house Albatros after 2002 and its present state and also presentation of conditions in which the production is created.
